Chelsea Lucas joined Katy Responds in December of 2018. Working alongside Tom Pretti as Office Manager, Chelsea wore all the hats for over 9 months until funding allowed for others to lighten the load. She came to Texas as a manager with Trader Joe’s from California. God pulled on her savvy business heart to use her talents to help organize the high demands flowing between office and fieldwork. Chelsea has two amazingly precious and precocious daughters and is very active in her small group.
Curtis Wilkins joined the Katy Responds team in July of 2019; having a career steadily consisting of maintenance work and non-profit organizations, this was the perfect union. Curtis is one of our Field Operations Supervisors and his motto for life is “Love your neighbor as yourself.” He lives these words daily through his interactions with our volunteers, contractors and homeowners. Curtis has been with his wife Stacie-Marie since 2004 and together, they have four children. Originally from California, if Curtis is not working on a site, you can find him introducing the rest of the Katy Responds staff to In-N-Out.

Matt enjoys homemade tacos with his amazing wife and two equally amazing children.

Tom Pretti, Jr. has been involved in Hurricane Harvey’s relief effort from day one! Starting with neighbors, friends, even strangers that he could reach in the high waters who were directly impacted. Tom’s background includes a heart to serve those knocked down by life, roles on several non-profit boards, working in the construction business, as well as 17 years in business and tax consulting. These experiences aligned superbly enabling Tom to successfully lead local relief, muck-out, and restoration efforts through Grace Fellowship UMC for eight months following Harvey. However, the long-term vision was realized and Tom helped to co-found Katy Responds.
Tom has a patient, angelic wife of 18 years and been blessed with three high energy sons. Their family has lived in the Katy area 11 years and are members of Grace Fellowship UMC.
Madison Peters was born and raised in Houston, Texas. Graduating from Foster High school, she is an avid songwriter and has performed in Katy and the surrounding areas. During Covid-19, Mady lost her job. She heard about Katy Responds need for a Volunteer Coordinator. Feeling led to help, Mady could not believe that people were still in homes damaged by Hurricane Harvey. Having a heart and an artists ear, Mady loves helping people and listening to their stories. Sometimes the best songs tell stories such as these.
“I’m so excited to lend a hand in bringing people together to create a more loving and whole community. I feel blessed to work with such an amazing group of people. “
Karl Wagner joins Katy Responds all the way from Jersey…New Jersey that is. Karl’s experience in working dispatch calls for emergency services as well as time spent at Home Depot have made Karl a perfect fit for his role at Katy Responds. You can find him on many Katy Responds projects, or enjoying a good meal at Local Table.

Brianne Hill joined Katy Responds as the Communication Coordinator in July of 2019. Graduating with a degree in Broadcasting, Brianne worked as a morning DJ for 3 years. She gave up the corporate world to become a domestic engineer and raise four spectacular children. Brianne’s Texas roots are deep but she is a Colorado native and still hopes for snow every winter. She attends Holy Covenant and helped with supplies when Hurricane Harvey impacted Katy. God continued to bring Katy Responds to mind and knowing that there were still families displaced, Brianne couldn’t look the other way.
