Meet our Team
Ron Peters
Ron Peters is the Executive Director of Katy Responds. He is originally from Michigan but moved to Texas in 1990. Ron is happily married to his better half, Jody, and between them they are blessed with five children and six grandchildren. They currently make their home on the southside of Katy in North Richmond. Jody and Ron own/operate their rental venue Three Strands Place where they host marriage ministry events. Prior to taking this role with Katy Responds Ron was an independent contractor as well as a sales director for an industrial supply company.
Sarah Ortiz
Sarah Ortiz joined Katy Responds as Administrative Coordinator in 2023. She has a heart for serving those in need. Prior to joining Katy Responds, she worked as an accountant. Sarah and her husband, Matt, enjoy making memories with their children. Because of her prior experiences volunteering with Katy Responds she knew what a gift the Lord had given her when she was offered a position working with the team.
Karl Wagner
Karl Wagner joined Katy Responds in 2022 as Site Supervisor after relocating from New Jersey for the role. His background in emergency dispatch and home improvement enables him to make connections with homeowners as he restores their homes. In his free time, Karl volunteers with Katy Men’s Baptist and Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children (CASA). Karl’s discipleship is evident in his demeanor and deeds, and he can always be counted upon to say a prayer of gratitude and intention on site.
Chris Ajamiseba
We recently moved from Florida to Houston to be closer to our grandchildren. Because my son, Michael, loved working with Katy Responds, I decided to volunteer too. I knew I found my place and purpose in Houston. When I was offered the position of Client Care Coordinator, I felt like it was not only an answer to my prayers, but I realized that my prior work and life experiences provided the tools needed to help families in crisis. The skills I learned living in South-East Asia for twenty years help me do my job serving our clients.
Our Board of Directors
John Lewis - Chairman
John Lewis was a senior oil and gas executive with extensive accomplishments developing and implementing corporate strategic plans and projects, over-achieving targets, and delivering excellent P&L performance. He combines a creative, curious mindset with an analytical approach to anticipate problems and opportunities.
From 2013–2020, John was Senior Vice President of Corporate Development where he was responsible for all business development activities (acquisitions, divestitures, mergers, etc.), corporate strategy and long-range planning, as well as world-wide exploration.
Additionally, John served as CEO of CONE Midstream until divestiture of Noble’s interest in late 2018. He served as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the first two years and then remained as board member until Noble’s divestment.
Johnny Wesevich - Treasurer
John has extensive experience in developing and leading teams in accounting, finance, tax, planning, supply chain, and information technology. He has led many construction-related mission projects, and this is how he started to partner with Katy Responds in 2018. John is an avid runner and enjoys serving others. He currently runs a CPA practice in Tomball, TX and is an assistant professor at the Dunham School of Business at Houston Christian University.
Tricia Turner
Born and raised in Houston, TX, Tricia Turner began her real estate career right out of high school. She continues to grow and thrive in the real estate world and is well on her way to building her vision.
Tricia started her career in the apartment industry and then obtained both her real estate sales- and loan officer licenses. For 6 years she worked simultaneously in residential sales and lending. Continuing her ambitious trajectory, she obtained her broker’s license in 2017 and opened her own independent brokerage. Tricia currently runs a megateam of 25 agents under the REAL brokerage. She and her team have been consistently growing each year with a target sales volume of $100,000,000 for 2023.
Tricia resides in Fulshear, TX with her 3 children, enjoys working out and reading in her spare time, and is determined to make a difference in this world.
Rick Bresler - Secretary
After years of contributing to Katy Responds’ work, Rick joined its Board in 2023.
His unique dual-industry career imparts a diverse business acumen to Katy Responds’ governing body. Rick worked for 40 years in oil and gas as a corporate executive, project director, and project manager. After that, he founded two finance businesses, Katy Capital Investments, LLC and KCI Funding, LLC. Katy Capital uses private equity to fund local real estate investors embarking on rehabs, new construction, and refinancing their projects. KCI Funding is made up of licensed mortgage originators to provide funding of Reverse Mortgages, Non QM, Conventional, FHA, VA, and USDA loans.
Rick looks forward to inspiring others to get involved with Katy Responds, and he enjoys being part of a mission that heals and brings hope.
Rev. Blaise Polk
Rev. Blaise D. Polk, Sr., originally from New Orleans, LA, has served as a pastor for over forty years, dedicated to spreading the Gospel and building God’s Kingdom. Beginning with a small storefront church that grew rapidly, necessitating moves to larger facilities, including the renovation of former industrial buildings into a multifunctional church complex serving the community.
Following Hurricane Katrina, Pastor Polk relocated to Texas, where he established Greater Power Baptist Church in Pleak, TX, experiencing miraculous provision for a new place of worship. In 2013, he founded Dove Nest Ministries in Rosenberg, TX, focusing on community outreach and ministry based on James 1:27, extending their mission internationally to support pastors in Pakistan.
Despite humble beginnings, Pastor Polk remains steadfast in his commitment to Kingdom Building, recognizing that all accomplishments are through God’s guidance and grace.
